Lark Rize is an acoustic folk duo frequently complimented for their well-blended vocal harmonies and thoughtful repertoire. Personal stories, human foibles, world views, musical sensitivities - all inspire their original compositions and song selection. Combining metaphors of nature, urban roots, introspective musings, humor, pathos, and a dash of old fashioned nostalgia, it is music that is true to the heart.
"....the lark at break of day arising......."
Shakespeare, Sonnet 29
What's New in 2020?
Thanks for visiting our website! In September, 2019, we made a decision to take a short break from performing so that we could attend to various projects and other responsibilities. Little did we know that, come Spring, we would be confined to our home along with millions around the world during this Coronavirus pandemic. These are indeed trying times that demand reflection. Our hearts are with the thousands who have lost a loved one to COVID-19,...with the dedicated, selfless healthcare workers who are on the front lines,....with the millions who find themselves jobless, hopeless, or filled with the dread of an uncertain future. We must believe that we will get through this; that this, too, shall pass. In the meantime, each of us must do what is in our power - stay home and help save lives, reach out to those in need or alone, bring light and joy by whatever means and gifts we have at our disposal. And may we reach the other side with renewed commitment to what is important.
We will continue to write songs and record as time permits, and we will continue to share our music through our website while considering greener and sustainable alternatives to our planned CD. So stay tuned. Stay safe and be well. Thanks again for visiting.
